The location is hard to beat - the hotel is a few blocks down the street from the Art Institute of Chicago and Millennium Park where you'll find the brilliant interactive sculpture by Jaume Piensa (google it - it's the most wonderfully life-affirming thing, and if you have children, take swimming gear and a towel) and the Frank Gehry Pritzker Pavilion with outdoor events. Almost next door to the hotel is the historic building, The Rookery, which houses the Frank Lloyd Wright Institute and its gift shop where you can book a 30 minute tour of the building and book others to the Robie House and other FLW buildings. The hotel is also about three blocks from the famed Willis (previously Sears) Tower. The hotel itself adjoins a a restaurant - I didn't use it but it's convenient. My room was quiet, airy with five windows and a very comfortable bed. I was lucky enough to meet Joanna, one of the senior managers of the hotel, who was absolutely brilliant, helping me with so many things, including advice on taking the Loop (the elevated train round the Loop, the central area of Chicago - there's a stop just down the street), getting me a ticket for a matinee at Second City, and thanks to her I got to see the Tiffany dome in the gorgeous Chicago Cultural Centre which otherwise I would have missed completely. She also told me about hotel amenities that I was not told about when I checked in - there's not only a water dispenser but they offer free bottles to take with you too, an ice machine, and laundry facilities as well as a lounge in the basement with a TV, outlets for laptops and a good free coffee machine. I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent location. Friendly staff. Fair price. The street has easy public transportation around the block. Metro about 2 blocks and buses also, 2-3 block depending where you want to go. All about 4-5 min walk. There are many restaurants around the hotel, but you can look further for lower prices. The room rate did not have breakfast included which you can check with the next door pub Elephant & Castle. The price within the range of local restaurants. The service is really good and very nice place. Uhm... but there's McDonald's, Subway and Dunkin Donuts around. Lol. It helped a lot. You can walk to many locations like Grant Park... that is about 25 min walk. The Art Institute of Chicago is about 18min walk. Willis Tower is just a 5min walk. The hotel is 10 store high and here are the goodies: 1. every floor has a water fountain station with bottles so you can fill and refill as much as you like. Yes... they offer free water. 2. they have a LAUNDRETTE which is free of charge. Three washing machines and three dryers. Soap included at no charge. I've never seen this at any hotel for free. On third floor. 3. They also have a guest help center - it's actually a room on each floor where you can get items you forgot to pack for your trip like deodorant, shaving cream, toothbrush and other small kits. Helpful. 4. There was also ice machine, a soda vending machine and a snack vending machine. Also on third floor. 5. They have a guest area with meeting facility and coffee machine available.

I picked this hotel based on price and location. Driving through Chicago was insane, but everything was so easy once we arrived at the hotel. They had a loading zone and didn’t mind if we left the car there for a while as we unloaded the car and checked in. They gave us a map of where to park the car and where to catch the red line to the baseball game. The front desk people were all very nice and very informative. I loved the water station they have on every floor. They provide new water bottles and filtered water. I’ve never seen a hotel do that before. I also very much appreciated the laundry. I usually struggle with noise when I stay in hotels and as you walk down the hall of this one, you can hear everyone’s tv, but once I was inside our room I literally didn’t hear a neighboring room once the entire time we were there and I know people were in the next room. It was impressive. The location was also fantastic for everything we wanted to do. Everything was walkable. One evening we even had time to go back to the hotel before our next activity.

I had a great experience at a hotel in a fantastic location. Plenty of transportation options were nearby, including a bus stop in front of the hotel, a metro, and an elevated train. Since my mother had trouble walking long distances, we used Uber, which was affordable because everything was close by. The hotel staff, with their warm and attentive demeanor, left a lasting impression. Despite the language barrier, they went above and beyond to cater to my Spanish-speaking mother's needs, displaying genuine care and concern. Their exceptional service significantly contributed to the comfort and enjoyment of our stay. I was surprised that breakfast wasn't included, but I might have missed that when I made the reservation. However, the breakfast at the hotel restaurant was excellent. Special thanks to the waiter who found my bag with all my documents and money on a chair in the restaurant and rushed after me in the street to return it.

AMAZING location, loved the fitness facility, loved the espresso machine in the common area and loved the Nespresso machine in my room! The bed was SUPER comfortable and the room was small but cozy. I also loved that the elevators were SUPER FAST and efficient - a small but important detail for someone who travels often. Shower got hot immediately and had decent pressure, and the toiletries provided were good quality. And for being in the heart of downtown, it was so quiet in the room! Very easy to sleep. The hotel has a very European vibe, right down to the fabulous British pub downstairs! The hallway layout is actually identical to a recent stay I had in Edinburgh, very quirky and fun.
